On the afternoon of December 29 2009, five members of the Gelugpa Vajrayana Buddhist Association of Malaysia (GVBAM) had the incredible fortune to meet one of Buddhism’s greatest and most renowned masters of our time – H.E. Kensur Jampa Yeshe Rinpoche, the Abbot Emeritus of Gaden Shartse Monastery. His Eminence is currently in Malaysia for a month to give teachings to Malaysians.
President Henry Ooi, Vice-President Ruby Khong and committee members Loh Seng Piow, Irene Lim and Chia Song Peng had a private audience with His Eminence, where they made extensive offerings and requested His Eminence to live long and continue to teach the Dharma.
In turn, His Eminence gave individual blessings to every committee member and shared the following advice: “Learn Lama Tsongkhapa’s mantra and do the practice well as it is a practice that you already know.”
“Listen to His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s advice; if you have the time, go to Dharamsala to meet His Holiness and attend his teachings, and also visit the many other holy sites of India. The Dalai Lama is a Guru to all of us, he is Avalokiteshvara; you should listen to his advice and follow.”
The GVBAM are deeply humbled by His Eminence’s advice and honoured to have been granted an audience with such a high and erudite master of our time. We are pleased to share photos of our audience with His Eminence below.
